This page is a plain-English summary for our customers. It's drafted as a template and reviewed periodically — if anything is unclear, just get in touch.
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to every order placed through the Donna's Daisies website
(the "Site"). By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them
carefully before ordering. These Terms don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Who We Are
Donna's Daisies ("we", "us", "our") is a small, UK-based business creating hand-painted glassware.
We sell to consumers within the United Kingdom and, where stated at checkout, to
[other countries you ship to].
3. Our Products
- Every piece is hand-painted and made to order or from limited stock, so small variations in
colour, brushwork, and finish between pieces are normal and are part of the handmade character of
the product — not a fault.
- Product images on the Site are as accurate as we can make them, but colours may appear slightly
different depending on your screen.
- We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to a product's design between the photograph
being taken and the piece being painted, particularly for bespoke and personalised orders.
4. Placing an Order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We will send an order confirmation email,
which is an acknowledgement of your order, not acceptance of it. A contract between us is only formed
when we dispatch your order (or, for bespoke pieces, when we confirm your design and begin painting).
We may decline or cancel an order at our discretion — for example, if an item is out of stock,
if we spot a pricing error, or if we're unable to verify payment — in which case we'll notify you
and refund any payment already taken.
5. Bespoke and Personalised Orders
- Bespoke and personalised items (including named or initialled pieces) are made specifically for
you once you've confirmed the design, wording, and colours.
- Please double-check spelling, names, and dates carefully before confirming — we are not
responsible for errors that were submitted incorrectly by you, though we're always happy to help
fix things where we can.
- Typical lead time for bespoke pieces is 2–3 weeks from confirmed design to dispatch; this
may be longer during busy periods such as Christmas or wedding season, and we'll let you know if so.
- Because these items are made to your specification, the standard 14-day right to cancel
(see Section 8) does not apply once painting has begun — see our Returns & Refunds Policy
for full details.
6. Pricing and Payment
- All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include/exclude VAT as stated at checkout.
[Confirm your VAT status and update this line accordingly].
- Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout and are not included in the item price.
- We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct, but mistakes can happen. If we discover a
pricing error on your order, we'll contact you before dispatching to confirm whether you'd like to
proceed at the correct price or cancel.
- Payment is taken in full at the time of order via our payment provider,
[name of payment processor, e.g. Stripe / PayPal / Shopify Payments].
We do not see or store your full card details — these are handled securely by our payment
processor. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. Delivery
Please see our Shipping & Delivery Policy for full details on costs, timeframes, and delivery
areas. In summary:
- Standard delivery: £3.95 (free on orders over £45), 3–5 working days.
- Express delivery: £7.95, 1–2 working days.
- Bespoke and personalised pieces: typically 2–3 weeks from confirmed design, then sent via
standard or express delivery as chosen.
8. Your Right to Cancel (Standard Items)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013,
you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a
reason, for a full refund (excluding the cost of any express delivery upgrade). This right does not
apply to bespoke or personalised items once production has started, unless the item is faulty. Full
details, including how to return an item, are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
9. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
As a handmade product, every piece is checked before it leaves the studio. If your item arrives
damaged, faulty, or isn't what you ordered, please contact us at hello@donnasdaisies.co.uk within
48 hours of delivery with a photo, and we'll sort out a replacement or refund. This is in addition to,
and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10. Care of Your Glassware
Please follow the care instructions provided with your piece (generally: hand wash recommended;
most pieces are gentle-cycle dishwasher-safe once fully cured after 30 days; avoid abrasive sponges).
We're not responsible for damage caused by improper care, general wear and tear, or accidental
breakage after delivery.
11. Our Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this
contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not liable for any loss or damage
that is not foreseeable. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused
by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited by law.
12. Intellectual Property
All designs, photographs, illustrations, and written content on the Site belong to Donna's Daisies
unless otherwise stated, and may not be copied, reproduced, or used commercially without our
permission.
13. Events Outside Our Control
We won't be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by
events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to adverse weather, courier delays,
supply shortages, or industrial action.
14. Governing Law and Complaints
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the
non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact
us first at hello@donnasdaisies.co.uk so we can try to resolve it directly. You may also be entitled to
use the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform or an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider
such as [name your chosen ADR scheme, if you use one].
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business or the law. The
version that applies to your order is the one published on the Site at the time you place your order.
